I sponsored my girl in Ethiopia because her situation was somewhat like mine had been....she was orphaned. But her situation differed in that she had been orphaned in babyhood and raised by her grandparents, who she still lives with and who she now cares for. And, she is halfway around the world in a developing nation that I don't speak the language of.

She's 20 now. She is in the tenth grade. She's not a great student and I don't see her qualifying to go to college. I will sponsor her as long as I can, which seems to be 22 years of age in Ethiopia. Then what?

I won't be able to help her. I don't know if she will find employment. I suppose she will continue to live with her grandparents as long as they live.
